Bali Blog Blather Malkin-Style
A quick spin around blog-land reveals where the real hot air on global warming is coming from.
Michelle "I want to be Bill O'Reilly" Malkin doesn't even write about the UN global warming conference in Bali, she just defers to Fox News.
In the same post Malkin mocks Yvo De Boer, the chair of the Bali conference, for caring enough about an issue to get emotional about it (god forbid!).
Powerline bloggers, the manly men they are, link to another blog featuring Santa with naked elves that mocks the EU head negotiator and comes up with catchy captions like: "Oh, Sweet Gaia, he did play joke and put pee pee in my Coke," and "Stay away from my boogers!"
Newsbusters, just echoes Malkin and Fox News.
Matt Drudge pretends to be non-partisan about the whole thing (yah) and just links to the same story Malkin does.
And as usual, schlock jock Rush Limbaugh takes it just that tad bit too far by calling Yvo De Boer an "Eco Freak."
And sadly, this is what millions read for updates on the United Nations conference in Bali.
No wonder the public is cynical and confused - this isn't media, or information, it's pure sensationalism aimed at ticking off people like me who will react, link to their websites and help them make more ad revenue.

Okay, I won't go and read her garbage
Instead I'll post something from a Libertarian antiwar site that I like:
http://www.antiwar.com/justin/?articleid=11814
Quotation: Why is this so hard for Ms. Malkin to understand? Because it gets in the way of her attempt to smear as "anti-American" and "pro-terrorist" anyone who tells the truth about what is happening on the ground in Iraq.
There's a search tool at antiwar.com -- type in Malkin and you can see a bunch of articles showing that most of what she writes regarding another important topic is also garbage.
It's interesting to me how many of the same people are/were pro-Iraq war and also AGW deniers. Either they really don't understand evidence or they are fans of politicians and parties like some people are of sports teams ("my team good or bad" = "my party, right or wrong"). Antiwar.com doesn't have AGW right, in my opinion, but I think they're right about how awful Malkin is.
Nail on the head
"sadly, this is what millions read for updates on the United Nations conference in Bali." That's what it boils down to, isn't it? The irresponsibility of these people is staggering, but what's worse is the degree to which they are taken seriously.
Maybe his eyes were watering from all the private jet exhaust?
"this isn't media, or information, it's pure sensationalism aimed at ticking off people like me who will react"
If you're ticked-off, that may have more to do with the fact that self-described "progressives" generally tend to to be thin skinned blowhards.
Why is this not information? It certainaly is. Some Euro-weenie career bureaucrat, wallowing at the taxpayer-funded trough on a junket to Bali, of all places, starts blubbering like a big girl's blouse? Good. Better him, than the billions of people he's feverishly plotting to sail down the river.
P.S. Nice bit of that "award-winning" Photoshop. What, are you like eight years old?
I like this girl. She gets
I like this girl.
She gets it.
What else can be said?
Hey Rob, someone likes you!
Hey Rob, someone likes you! :D
Quote your source!
You lifted that from Dave Starr at http://michellemalkin.com/2007/12/17/blubbering-in-bali/, didn't you Rob? ("It was the exhaust fumes from the private jets warming up making his eyes water.") Come on, now -- credit where it's due!
To Rob: Where do you get off
To Rob:
Where do you get off calling Progressives thin-skinned blowhards? Why do you say this?
And, are you a Global Warming Denier as well as a severe critic of Progressives?
Heh, only one thing to say to that --
Dear Momcat,
Q.E.D.

Rob
