Canada's typical summer heats up, especially in the Arctic

Environment Canada reported that last summer was the seventh-warmest on record, with temperatures 0.9 C higher than average. Canada's all-time high was 1.8 C above normal in 1998.

Canada's far-northern territory of Nunavut recorded the highest above-average temperatures and the populous regions of southern Ontario and Quebec the lowest.

Canada's average summer temperature has risen nearly a degree since records began in 1948, the agency said.
