Climate Cover Up Top Selling Media Studies Book in America

I know, I know, I've been writing a lot about DeSmog's new book Climate Cover Up. But I just can't help myself when I see all these great stats rolling in. I just have to share them with our loyal readers.

Amazon.com has Climate Cover Up listed as the best selling book in Media Studies today, beating out amazing books like Manufacturing Consent and Barbara Walter's The Audition.

Check it out, here's the screenshot:

If this rise to fame keeps up you DeSmoggers are going to need armed body guards.

I suspect your names have moved to the top of the deniers "Hit List" along with Gore, Suzuki and 1000s of climate scientists worldwide.

Dont open any packages from folks you dont know.......... ;-)

Well yes, especially if Monkton continues to get radio time as he did today. I can't report that he was especially nice to Richard.

The authors don't have much to fear unless they run afoul of the Alarmist camp.

(though it's been scrubbed)

"At what point do we jail or execute global warming deniers-shouldn't
we start to punish them now?" The time is rife as the fraud has been laid bare.

"An entire generation will soon be ready to strangle you and your kind while you sleep in your own beds."
Joe Romm, beacon of fairness and open discussion, "Clearly not a threat but a prediction."

Will deniers be spared if they keep a copy of your book on their nightstand? Could they hide under all the bedcovers necessary to counter-act the effects of all this global cooling. With exploding numbers of deniers, you may not be able to remove us all at once. Keep the rest of us on the ever-shrinking supply of ice while we await our well-deserved fate. It hasn't ALL melted yet, right? It would only be fair to give us a running start, but fair and Alarmism won't collide in the same sentence.

How will these Climate Ninjas be trained? A steady diet of "An
Inconvenient Truth" and sundry other laughable shlockumentaries?
I say, remove their grey matter (if there's any to remove) leaving just a spinal column for them to go unthinkingly through the motions.

They certainly have abundant examples to follow.

All very well, but I've been waiting for weeks now for my copy via Amazon! They keep on putting delivery off - saying they'll have it on x date, and then changing their minds. If they have a date for delivery, why does it keep on changing?

So, yes, perhaps there's more people than just me in the UK waiting for a copy of this.

You may also establish a sort of 'running ticker' similar to the one the Yanks have for their spiralling out of control National Debt, (though they may soon cull ~$6B currently ear-marked for studying a science that's settled)
This one would indicate the time elapsed since all that is holy for
AGW Alarmists hit the proverbial fan at terminal velocity.

It could be a daily double; marking the time elapsed while awaiting comment from Dr. James Hansen and THE GOREACLE on losing their Religion!

You are talking to grownups here. Refer to people such as Al Gore by their proper names.

Your hero made a movie that scared you and many other children. You must not internalize this.

"He alone who owns the youth, gains the future." Adolph Hitler.

Stray just once from your mandatory reading list and peruse: "Al Gore; A Users Manuel" by Jeffrey St. Clair (Counterpunch.org)unless you fear your myopic little world might be shattered anew.

Based on your own snitty comments, it's rather a stretch to believe you're one of the grownups you reference. That said, it's refreshing to see respect for one's elders.

And I shall refer to THE GOREACLE any damn way I choose!

RickJames. +1; Sun, 2009-11-29 15:27; Do I have this right?

The purpose of the book is to shed light on special interests that are affecting public policy regarding climate. This serves to remove obstacles and lays groundwork for a political process leading to international agreements, treaties, promises and frameworks which will become worthless and abandoned as the political promises they are.

Are you guys in the pay of the oil companies or what?

I was just reading James Hansen's thoughts on Copenhagen and basically He says the Copenhagen and by extension the entire political approach is a joke and politicians are lying through their teeth and need a slap in the face and activists need to take to the streets.

Extreme stuff - but understandable if the planet is in such peril.

Does this point of view in any way put desmoggers in alliance with the deniers as opposite teams playing the same game - working the same broken system of compromise?

Just wondering

Bruce Frykman. +1; Tue, 2009-12-15 10:14; Blasphemers and other "kaffirs"

RE: "Are you guys in the pay of the oil companies or what?"

You mean the companies that provide the billions of barrels of oil to fly the hysterical communists all over the world with their: "we're all doomed" sandwich boards???

No, I work for the public interest only: I do government "studies" devoted to saving the moon from infectious diseases; moon based diseases "might" wipe us all out in 150 years or so when future astronauts bring it back to spread it like AIDS on steroids among us.

"Science", you see, is all about "coulds", "maybes", and "mights"

And I'm well worth my 10 million dollar government "grant"; so far no infectious diseases (you cant see them) have occured on the moon under our watch. It takes real expertise to detect bacteria and viruses on the moon you see. It's a real tough job, particularly with so many "deniers", "unbelievers", "blasphemers", "kafirs" and the like to discredit our valuable "science".

I'm meeting 30,000 other moon-infection "scientists" for our semi-annual convention in Tahiti this month. We all have "peer reviewed" our science and the earth we will all "most likely" (another 'scientific' term) be doomed if we ever get defunded.

RE: "He [James Hansson] says the Copenhagen and by extension the entire political approach is a joke and politicians are lying through their teeth and need a slap in the face and activists need to take to the streets."

Of course the weather mystic, Jimmy Hanson, was hired by these same people. What does that say about him???

He should quit working for the evil government and get his funding from the only "pure" people: You rock throwing, pot smoking, mom and dad allowance funded, "street activists"

Exactly

They are the only courses these airheads are capable of:

womens "studies" etc.

As I have indicated elsewhre on this pitiful blog, any course that ends with "science" are not sciences and any courses that end in "studies" are designed for airheads that are incapable of studying ie greenie communists - the last refuge of the incompetants

Hi Mick,

It was good to see you again yesterday – if briefly. One particular
thing you said – and we agreed – was about the IPCC reports and
the broader climate negotiations were working to the globalisation
agenda driven by organisations like the WTO. So my first question
is do you have anything written or published, or know of anything
particularly on this subject, which talks about this in more detail?

My second question is that I am invovled in a working group
organising a climate justice summit in the Hague and I wondered if
you had any contacts, ngos or individuals, with whom you have
worked especially from the small island States or similar areas,
who could be invited as a voice either to help on the working group
and/or to invite to speak?

All the best,

Paul

All those associated with this Fraud should be prosecuted.
Climate change hurts no-one- go on show me real figures!
Climate alarmism is killing poor people in the 3rd World on a daily basis thanks to the idiotic "sustainable" fuels policies which have taken up to a third of agricultural land out of food production.
World food prices have doubled as a result- and guess who suffers?

Personally I'd like to see Jones, Mann, Albore and the freaks who run Surrealclimate prosecuted and convicted of manslaughter- because that's what Climate Alarmism does.
Kills.

Thats the mirror charge that is always thrown up against skeptics. It comes down to assigning blame for the killing of innocents of the future.

Climate is getting to be an ugly business.

About the climate cover-up

About the climate cover-up

Democracy is utterly dependent upon an electorate that is accurately informed. In promoting climate change denial (and often denying their responsibility for doing so) industry has done more than endanger the environment. It has undermined democracy.

There is a vast difference between putting forth a point of view, honestly held, and intentionally sowing the seeds of confusion. Free speech does not include the right to deceive. Deception is not a point of view. And the right to disagree does not include a right to intentionally subvert the public awareness.

Although all public relations professionals are bound by a duty to not knowingly mislead the public, some have executed comprehensive campaigns of misinformation on behalf of industry clients on issues ranging from tobacco and asbestos to seat belts.

Lately, these fringe players have turned their efforts to creating confusion about climate change. This PR campaign could not be accomplished without the compliance of media as well as the assent and participation of leaders in government and business.
