I thought the petition text was clear enough:
"4. to acknowledge that all requests to Gore or Hansen to participate in 'debates' on global warming can and should be rightfully ignored -- as such debates are invariably pointless and inconsequential, and will only serve to distract from the truly important debates to take places in the courts of law and the chambers of parliament worldwide;"
No more useless 'debates'. Either Monckton sues, or he shuts up. It's simple.

Since the average US citizen uses two and a half times the energy that the average European uses and five times the average world citizen. So, if population reduction is going to siginificantly affect global energy use and carbon emissions, then Hara-kiri to save the planet is only going to make any difference if it starts in the US and becomes very popular. This remains true despite the massive growth of emissions in China. The US remains well ahead of everyone else in per capita emissions. [Excepting the following nations, whose populations are so small in comparison with the US, so as to make them relatively insignificant. Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Brunei, Australia, Antigua & Barbuda.]
With the US population at 303 million in Dec 2007 that's the equivalent of reducing the World Population by ~1.5 billions!
So Gary, please do the right thing!

What does the problem look like exactly? Does the petition show up in the first place?
Anyway, the WordPress machine serving up style sheets (s.wordpress.com) has been weirding out quite a good lot recently -- sometimes I even have trouble writing on my own blog.
