Canadian government pulls plug on climate-change policy group

A memo obtained by Canadian Press outlining a new organizational structure no longer includes the policy directorate, which consisted of a handful of bureaucrats responsible for implementing new policy, co-ordinating climate-change efforts among various government departments and analyzing their potential impact.

Citing un-named sources, CP said the change was motivated by “a desire to consolidate power” in the office of Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
