Monckton lies to AP, denies he called clean energy advocates “Hitler youth”

Despite video evidence, Christopher Monckton stated in an interview yesterday with Associated Press:

“It was not I who called them Hitler Youth. It was three Germans and a Dane in the audience.”

It would appear that a more appropriate title than “climate denier” for Monckton, might be “reality denier.” For Monckton to now deny what he has admitted repeatedly on tape as doing, shows just how willing he is to bend the truth.

Here’s the video (again) of Monckton calling young climate change campaigners the “Hitler youth”:

After lying to Associated Press about his Hitler youth comments, Monckton then proceeded to compare the climate activists to Adolf Hitler’s fascist army, saying the activists were attempting to stifle free speech, using tactics “last seen here when the Nazis occupied Denmark.”

Guardian: Viscount Monckton calls young climate activists 'Hitler Youth'

From the UK’s Guardian this morning:

Christopher Monckton berates a group of young activists for interrupting a meeting of climate sceptics in Copenhagen, calling them ‘Nazis’ and ‘Hitler Youth’

Christopher Monckton berates a group of young activists for interrupting a meeting of climate sceptics in Copenhagen, calling them ‘Nazis’ and ‘Hitler Youth’

When Christopher Monckton, the hereditary third Viscount Monckton of Brenchley, attended an Americans for Prosperity meeting in Copenhagen on Wednesday night that was interrupted by chanting youth delegates, he was reportedly furious. But no one expected him to go back and berate them.

Yesterday he ambushed a small group of students from the non-profit SustainUS inside the Bella centre. One of them texted her friends for help. Several arrived, including Ben Wessel, a 20-year-old activist from Middlebury College, Vermont.

Monckton then repeatedly called them “Nazis” and “Hitler Youth”. When Wessel told him that his family were Jewish, Monckton carried on.

“I was so surprised,” Wessel said today. “I hoped to have a more civil conversation with the man. It’s fine that we have differences, but it’s not okay to pull out such hateful language.”

CopenDenier Monckton pretends he's a scientist. "Hitler Youth" call him on it.

Christopher Monckton is making quite a show of himself at the Copenhagen climate talks.

Last night we reported that Monckton publicly called a group from Sustain US a bunch of “Nazis” and “Hitler Youth.”

Now in a video today he’s shown droning on in great detail about the science of climate change (although he has absolutely no background in the area of climate change research) with the same young people he called Nazis the night before.

Monckton’s intolerance and gall is outrageous. But what still remains more outrageous is that some mainstream media continue to use him as a credible source at the climate talks.

I tell you, whoever has the time to follow Monckton around Copenhagen with a video camera is going to get a lot of great clips. And I’ll gladly promote them.

Here’s the video:
