Natural Resource Stewardship Project

Tom Harris Pops Up Down Under

In an article titled the Sad Demise of On-Line Opinion, Australian Clive Hamilton, writes:

The editors' appeal to the principles of good journalism to defend the publication of denialist anti-science, but have failed their readers by breaking another tenet of journalistic ethics. The lead author of 'The UN climate change numbers hoax”, Tom Harris, is described by On Line Opinion at the end of the article as “an Ottawa-based mechanical engineer and Executive Director of the International Climate Science Coalition'.

NRSP's Tom Harris on the offensive after CBC "Denial Machine" rebroadcast last night

Harris, Ball Courting Political Isolation

The Natural Resources Stewardship Project condemned Prime Minister Stephen Harper today for Canada's “total capitulation to climate change dogma.” In doing so, Canada's leading group of climate quibblers appears to be separating itself from the last of its potential climate allies.

NRSP's Tom Harris power chugs the kool aid on late-night talkshow

In a recent call-in portion on an Ottawa late-night call-in show, Tom Harris, executive director of the energy industry front group, the Natural Resources Stewardship Project (NRSP), offers up some laughable quotes:

Harris: “There was 100 people that appeared in the [government of Canada's] Clean Air Act hearings that just wrapped up and I went through the list and there wasn't a single doubter out of 100 people, that was questioning the science of climate change.”

Ever heard of the "Natural Resource Stewardship Project?" Brown University has.

If Brown University newspaper's Don Trella ever wants a job writing at DSBlog, we would love to chat. Check out Trella's piece on Tom Harris and the NRSP. A couple of good quotes:

The NRSP is a coalition whose leadership includes about half of the last handful of climate scientists of note who reject global warming as a “myth.”

Ironically, they realize their position is so out of the mainstream, they have to use a name that not only belies their true purpose but in fact implies they are environmentalists.

Loiter Creekside for Skeptic Roasting

Check this Bowen Island blogger for an entertaining wrap of recent skeptic news.

Funny line of the day for climate change insiders:

The Natural Resources Stewardship Project, a Canadian environmental policy research think tank which evidently feels the need to put quotation marks around words like “green energy” and “environmentalists”, lays out a strategy which quite likely involves a child blowing on a dandelion ….

NRSP Bashing Gets Gritty

Tom Harris, executive director and lead PR guy for the Natural Resources Stewardship Project (Not Really Science People), is being subjected to a liberal amount of piling on at BigCityLib, where they object to the notion that his organization is apolitical. The original BigCityLib posting is here .
