International Climate Science Coalition Bets that a Lie, Repeated Often Enough ...22 Apr 08
In the public relations version of waterboarding, the International Climate Science Coalition (ICSC) has re-released a six-week-old petition claiming once again that the science academies of every country in the developing world are all wrong about global warming. The petition features a familiar cast of characters - tobacco apologists and energy industry regulars - and is being plumped up by a PR guy who has moved full-time into climate change denial. |

A Reading List for the Narrowminded8 Apr 08
Amazon has apparently sent my copy of The Deniers, Lawrence Solomon's book version of his tiresome Denier series in the National Post, a review of which will follow when it arrives. But Amazon also followed up with a list of books they think might also interest me: a handsome reading list for anyone who is determined to remain delusional about global warming. |

Fred Seitz: Death of an Icon3 Mar 08
Dr. Frederick Seitz, who died yesterday at the age of 96, was a great scientist, a President-Emeritus at Rockefeller University and a past president of the U.S. National Academy of Science. Which makes it a greater scandal that people like Dr. S. Fred Singer took such advantage of the man in his declining years. |

Heartland Institute Ensures Bad Book Has Great "Sales"23 Jan 08
In a sustained campaign to stamp out responsible policymaking, the Heartland Institute has been distributing the denier text Unstoppable Global Warming - Every 1,500 Years to state politicians who are grappling with decisions about how to address global warming. Late last week, the Hays Daily News reported that Heartland was behind the gift of an autographed copy of the book to Kansas Governor Kathleen Sibelius. DeSmogBlog regulars will recognize Sibelius as the woman behind a decision to block approvals for new coal-fired electricity plants in Kansas, a move that has inspired all manner of corporate underhandedness in response. Now, the Des Moines Globe Gazette is reporting that Heartland also handed out copies of S. Fred Singer and Dennis Avery 's risible book to Iowa legislators who are considering new measures intended to combat climate change. |

Not even the White House buys Avery and Singer's 'research' anymore19 Sep 07
Here's a headline from the UK's Telegraph that we haven't seen in quite a while: 'Global Warming is Good and Not our Fault.' I quite honestly thought we were past this, but it seems Denis Avery and Fred Singer can still eke out a headline once in a while. Avery and Singer are grandfathers of the climate denial industry and their antiquated 'research' spun in the name of science, is a reflection of just how long in the tooth they have become when it comes to the issue of climate change. |
