Exposing Jack "Astroturf" Bonner's Naked Fraud [video]

The very-active Avaaz Action Factory was in rare form recently when they showed up for a naked protest in front of the offices of DC’s Astroturf King, Bonner and Associates. The point of their action was to not only get a nice shower but to drive home the point that Bonner and Associates is a naked fraud.

A point I fully agree with.

As you may recall, Washington, DC corporate power player, Jack Bonner and his firm Bonner and Associates were recently busted for sending fake letters to Congress representatives urging them to vote against the Clean Energy and Security Act - the underhanded tactic was paid for by the Washington coal industry lobby who stands to lose big-time if their toxic emissions are regulated under the new act.

For those not up to speed on their PR spindoctoring nomenclature, Astroturfing is a an age old, slimy and undemocratic technique in which one manufactures a fake grassroots uprising. It is a big money service offered by some very powerful Washington public relations companies and one of the more successful of these is Bonner & Associates, which boasts of a long history of manufacturing fake grassroots movements for corporate America.

Anyways. On to what you came for, the video [ps. here’s the photos from the naked protest]:

Previous Comments

The Michael Moore mockumentary style of filmmaking is so tired and worn out that it has become a cliche. If this video was meant to be humourous, they failed badly. How about something original next time?

=”Why does Banner and Associates hate democracy?”=

What a lame line. They couldn’t even get bystanders interested in their weak stunt.

As for so-called “astroturfing”, well, it is legal. We have been ‘turfed for years by unrepresentative green groups who claim to speak for most Canadians and Climate Action Factories (whomever they are) is little different.

And naked protesters? Wow. So radical.

Yep Paul, it’s much better to sit in your basement writing useless blog comments all day than actually trying to make a difference in the world.

I too wish for a better world Kevin. But to say Bonner and Associates is against democracy is really over the top.

First of all, wishing for a better world and actually working to help make one - two different things. Wishing ain’t worth squat. Even on a star.

Secondly, it’s not even close to the top, let alone going over it, to say that people who try to circumvent the democratic process by lying, committing fraud, and scamming our elected officials in a mercenary ploy purely for profit are anti-democratic.

Bonner and Associates are far more than democracy haters, they’re scum sucking bottom leaches who would sell out their own children for more gold and treasure. In fact that’s exactly what they’re doing as carbon collaborators who are trying to cover up climate change’s true damage and cost. This isn’t an honest difference of opinion, this is being willing to say and do anything for money. You know, like a climate whore who keeps working even after they know they have AIDS. Is that more on the money for you?

Bonner and Associates has clearly chosen to put me, my family, and your family’s future well-being at risk by their immoral and unacceptable actions. How can we not think of Bonner and Associates as our mortal enemy whose actions mean us harm? I guess if we didn’t know the truth about the climate change fate that awaits us without drastic action on our part, we might. But I DO know those facts and so I also know just how dangerous Bonner and Associates actions are and just how strongly I should respond.

So while you’re “wishing,” Kevin, I’ll be doing everything I can to expose Bonner and Associates and to stop them from succeeding in their evil mission of destruction. And I won’t be mincing words about it either like you’re willing to do.

You can BOHICA if you want to, but don’t advise others to do likewise.

I’m the last person to sit around wishing for a better world and I definitely don’t mince words. Do you have me mixed up with Paul S on this thread?

Bonner and Associates are on an “evil mission of destruction”?? WHY DIDN’T ANYONE SAY SO BEFORE?? The best strategy to fight them is to GET NAKED NOW! ;)

I’m keeping my clothes on and I’m sure that makes a better world all by itself.
