Make your own Exxon gas sign!

Ticked off about gas prices? Want people to wake up and sell their SUV's? Have some fun messing around with this cool little program where you can make your own ExxonMobil gas station sign.

Hat tip to Earth First for telling us about this.

820 seems a bit too low since I'm pretty sure there are at least 50 Exxon/Mobil stations in and around ATL alone.

Oh wait, rob can't grasp the radical idea that drivers actually know how much they need to pay when they fill up those gas tanks.

I guess they need someone like rob telling people that when they think they're paying such-and-such an amount, they're really paying much less! Use the Force, Luke. The Reality-Altering Force...

it's a good idea, but how thick do you think my skull is? I might go out and do this and risk getting arrested while you sat on your computer and mucked around on photoshop for a couple hours?

About the climate cover-up

Democracy is utterly dependant upon an electorate that is accurately informed. In promoting climate change denial (and often denying their responsibility for doing so) industry has done more than endanger the environment. It has undermined democracy.

There is a vast difference between putting forth a point of view, honestly held, and intentionally sowing the seeds of confusion. Free speech does not include the right to deceive. Deception is not a point of view. And the right to disagree does not include a right to intentionally subvert the public awareness.

Although all public relations professionals are bound by a duty to not knowingly mislead the public, some have executed comprehensive campaigns of misinformation on behalf of industry clients on issues ranging from tobacco and asbestos to seat belts.

Lately, these fringe players have turned their efforts to creating confusion about climate change. This PR campaign could not be accomplished without the compliance of media as well as the assent and participation of leaders in government and business.
