Pat Michaels Ousted as Virginia State Climatologist For Industry Funding

Pat Michaels, whose utility industry funding, private research and controversial views on global warming made him a lightning rod on climate change issues, left the office too politicized, according to officials at the University of Virgina.

As a result, Michaels is no longer the state's climatologist.

Recently, Michaels found himself in hot water after refusing to divulge his funding sources under a court order. Michaels and his lawyers stated that, "Many of New Hope's [Michaels] clients provide funding to New Hope with the understanding that the funding will be confidential."

Hmmm . . .

. . . Where have I heard THAT before?

"Many of New Hope's [Michaels] clients provide funding to New Hope with the understanding that the funding will be confidential."

Wasn't there something about the NRSP protecting the identity of their contributors with the same excuse? It seems to me that they got tripped up quite spectacularly on that one.

Great news.

Oh, how the mighty have fallen...

But, one thing: he never really was the "state climatologist", at least, not officially.

Here's the Think Progress post/link, which links to a couple of articles.
