It is obviously early stage, but Gizmodo is reporting [1] that some top Formula One builders are teaming up to create what would no doubt be the fastest hybrid car on the planet. I was saving up for a Prius [2], but I think I might hold out for this one! Thanks to our friends at Thinkprogress [3] for bringing this story to our attention. 

This latest development is in response to a June, 2006 demand [4] by Formula One boss Max Moseley that racing engineers quit spending their time and expertise pushing out a few extra RPM's, and instead turn to making Formula One greener and meaner.
