Data shows last month was hottest January on record
The U.S. National Climatic Data Center says the world’s land areas were 3.4 degrees Fahrenheit warmer than “a normal January” and 0.81 degrees hotter than the previous record set in 2002, which meteorologists said is “a lot” since such barriers are usually broken by only hundredths of a degree at a time.
