Ooooh, $89 billion, you say? Don’t forget to balance that against the federal and state tax revenues generated by the petroleum industry. Guess which one is greater? By a lot?

Before anyone runs out to buy the book, they should keep in mind Tamminen is a self-declared fringe candidate for the US presidency. Highlights of his platform include free healthcare for illegal immigrants, and a 32-hour workweek for all government employees. Okaaaaaay

Although, how he’s going to convince the average government employee to increase their hours eludes me?

By comparison, he actually makes H. Ross Perot seem rather sane.
This from the person who is screaming about ad hominem attacks elsewhere on this website. Heh.

About the climate cover-up

About the climate cover-up

Democracy is utterly dependent upon an electorate that is accurately informed. In promoting climate change denial (and often denying their responsibility for doing so) industry has done more than endanger the environment. It has undermined democracy.

There is a vast difference between putting forth a point of view, honestly held, and intentionally sowing the seeds of confusion. Free speech does not include the right to deceive. Deception is not a point of view. And the right to disagree does not include a right to intentionally subvert the public awareness.
