Canadian Wind Power seen Adding $1 billion to Economy in '07

Wind energy is expected to contribute more than C$1 billion ($890 million) to Canada's gross domestic product in 2006, up from C$736 million in 2005, according to Sean Whittaker of the Canadian Wind Energy Association. Whittaker said the group sees wind producing 4 percent of the country's electricity by 2015 – an amount equal to that expected from natural gas generation.
